Event Details
The first event for the Milwaukee Illuminate Film Festival (miff.), is just around the corner, taking place this Saturday December 16th, 2023. This year’s festival is a one evening screening and community building event with doors opening at 5pm for a cocktail hour and pink carpet photo op, followed by four shorts blocks with a short Q&A with filmmakers in attendance, and intermission between each screening block. The first short block will commence at 6pm. The evening will close with a short awards ceremony. The event is ADA accessible, and open to all but is recommended for those 18+. The event includes a gift bag with miff. merch and other goodies. Bar service is available for attendees who are 21+. The after party will be held at This is It! bar after the festival event.
Our mission is to illuminate the work of filmmakers from marginalized communities and intersecting identities. To provide a space for filmmakers to screen their work and grow within a supportive community of culturally diverse and intersectional artists. We support and screen works of independent film and video in any genre, with a tighter focus on non-traditional narratives, experimental works, and identity focused films.
